A Glamorous Day in the Life of a Sexologist
The past week in the life of this sexologist has been kinda surreal. I was off from the boutique for 9 straight days (well, at least as much as a business owner can ever really be “off”) in order to finish my book. I’m happy to announce…. IT IS DONE!!!!! It took me 3 years and 13 days to complete it and I am so proud of myself. BFF George was very encouraging and said even if it’s a flop, even if I only sell 50 copies to my friends and family “you can look at your life and say, ‘and wrote a book’. To me that’s success”.
This week I also had hair and makeup done for a photo shoot for the book cover, and a video shoot for my Fellatio 101 party, and had a phone conference with producers about a reality show. It’s all so glamorous. Such exciting times here at Feminique!
My book, “The Crusade Against Sex: A Pleasure Manifesto” will be out November 6. My video will be out soon. The TV show is still in very early stages of creative development and pitching to the right people, but still thrilling. I feel like I’ve been telling you about these things for years and can’t wait to finally show you a finished product! I just can’t get over it! TV shows and books and photo shoots. This is my life!
But today it was back to work. I showed up at Feminique this morning. A kid puked out front of my shop on the sidewalk and then I went inside and wrote some bills as I waited 2 ½ hours for my first sale. Soooo not glamorous. Correction. Vomit, and bills, and barely scraping by. THIS is my life.
