Feminique is Getting a Makeover!
Big time!
That big bar in the middle of the store and all the cabinetry behind it (seen below) is getting ripped out, I’ll be putting in a new floor and new check out counter, and all the new wall and floor space that will open up will go towards… are you ready…10 more museums!! YAY! I’m so excited!
The antique vibrator museum (seen below) took me 4 months to research, locate and collect artifacts, and then organize and build. It was a real pleasure for me because I’m a sex nerd, and I love how people react to it and learn from it, not just about antique vibrators, but also the role of erotophobia throughout history. It’s so popular I turned it into a college workshop, and incorporated into an in-home party. I decided there need to be more, and so I’m renovating so that there is room for mini museum displays through out the store. My interns and I are working on researching and collecting for a museum on the history of the condom, lingerie, as well as 8 other topics I’m not disclosing yet.
Also cool news- this makeover is happening sooner than you might think. Assuming the borough of West Chester grants me the permits without delay or trouble (which is a big assumption…) renovations start the second week in October!
