Tyler

Sometimes it’s easier to bitch and complain than it is to recognize the good things, so I’m taking a moment to recognize a good thing- Tyler.

One year ago today he moved into my, now our, apartment, and every single day things between us are better and better. Honestly. Our relationship is unrecognizable as the thing that existed a few years ago.

We always have such interesting conversations, he’s fun, we spend so much time doing silly nonsense and laughing. He’s very sweet and affectionate. He’s supportive of all big ideas and dreams.

For the past few Saturday’s we have done nothing but lay in bed all day and talk and cuddle and connect and it has been so nice. Sometimes it’s intellectual debates (you hear about some of these online if we’re friends on facebook), sometimes it’s mushy cutsey lovey stuff, and sometimes we can not stop laughing (like this Saturday when we woke to find out he had his first post teenage wet dream on my leg during the night!) hahahahahah. Could NOT stop laughing.

Every weekend seems better than the weekend before. All I can say is, things are SO GOOD between us that I just had to take a moment among the chaos that sometimes feels like is whirling around me with running a business, being a graduate student, publishing a book, and all the craziness that goes along with doing those three at the same time, and acknowledge that there’s a lot of beauty in my life, and a lot of things to be thankful for, and Tyler is one of them.
